Larry Hama and Ron Wagner Panel at AR ’24

This deserves its own post here at A Real American Book!. On November 9th, I moderated the “Living Legends: Larry Hama & Ron Wagner” panel at Assembly Required, a great G.I. Joe convention held annually in Des Moines, Iowa. These two guys are smart and funny, and it was a pleasure to run the chat.

For my reflections on the convention, you can read a four-part con report that begins here.

Thank you to Talking Joe podcast host Mark for suggesting that I interview Hama, and for Assembly Required chief Brian Sauer for reaching out and offering the panel with not one, but two panelists. Thanks also go to R. Carson Mataxis, who by special request took several wonderful photos during and after the panel, and shared them all.

In fact I co-host Talking Joe, that weekly G.I. Joe comics-themed podcast, and I captured the audio of the panel so that Mark could turn it into an episode. And it’s short! Our talks hover around two hours, whereas this is a lean 52 minutes. Listen here [direct audio download], here [YouTube audio-only], here [Apple Podcasts], here [Spotify], or here [Podbean].
